Ximena Altamirano Garcia
Ximena Altamirano Garcia is an associate attorney in the firm and is based in the Albuquerque office. Ms. Altamirano Garcia represents individuals and families in cases involving family petitions, green card applications, waivers, naturalization and citizenship, U Visas for victims of crimes, removal of conditions and green card renewals, as well as other immigration matters. Ms. Altamirano Garcia is fluent in Spanish.
Ms. Altamirano Garcia earned her Juris Doctor degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. While in law school, she was an active participant in the school’s immigration clinic, where she worked directly with individuals and families seeking to obtain lawful immigration status. Her work focused on preparing family-based petitions and humanitarian applications, including asylum, U visas, VAWA, and other forms of relief. Ms. Altamirano Garcia also interned at the Fort Snelling Immigration Court, where she supported the work of immigration judges by analyzing cases and drafting written decisions. Prior to law school, she worked as a paralegal in an immigration law firm where she supported clients navigate their immigration matters before USCIS.
Her commitment to immigration law is deeply personal, rooted in her own journey as an immigrant from Acámbaro, Guanajuato, Mexico. She is passionate about helping others achieve legal status and the opportunity to pursue their dreams without fear or limitation.
